At Microsoft Ignite General Availability (GA) of Teams on RealWear was announced - yes, it’s coming out of Public Preview! This is another great reason to choose RealWear today. “Immediately after the Microsoft Teams Public Preview was announced, customers around the world indicated that they were ready to move toward full-scale deployment across priority sections of their firstline worker populations,” said Andrew Chrostowski, Chairman and CEO at RealWear. “With today’s historic announcement of the first 100% hands-free Teams-enabled device, RealWear and Microsoft are poised to meet the global demand for thousands of connected firstline workers.” David Oswald, Global Mars Supply Excellence Manufacturing Leader, whose role is focused on autonomous maintenance of its associates, said, “In response to the pandemic, manufacturing and safety leaders at Mars created a playbook to facilitate business continuity while supporting social distancing measures. With travel being restricted, Microsoft Teams on RealWear devices became an important part of that playbook, and all 14 Mars Petcare factories in the U.S. are now using Teams on RealWear devices to enable engineers to remotely conduct audits, troubleshoot issues, and advise on the installation of new equipment. It’s been a gamechanger.” “Customers are already receiving tremendous value from Teams on RealWear for firstline workers globally,” said Emma Williams, Corporate Vice President, Modern Workplace Transformations. “Integrating the power of Teams with purpose-built devices by RealWear has become an essential tool for hands-free remote collaboration to help maintain uptime and safety standards of essential operations.” To date, global companies including Honeywell (Microsoft Inspire Keynote), Total SA (announcement video), and now Mars have all deployed the devices for hands-free remote collaboration with Microsoft Teams.

The video highlights how to continue factory acceptance testing on schedule with virtual alternatives. Here’s how it worked at Honeywell: When travel restrictions and social distancing requirements made such meetings impossible, Honeywell quickly turned to RealWear and Teams to help create a virtual version of the testing process.
“When the COVID-19 crisis struck, we still had customers who needed us to run our tests on schedule,” says Hank Wrenn, Vice President and General Manager of Americas Projects and Automation Solutions at Honeywell Process Solutions. “We switched over to Microsoft Teams and started using RealWear head-mounted tablet devices, which allowed us to get everyone connected and continue our work.”

Here's How Technology Stepped Up for Shell Global when COVID-19 Struck
Shell continues to pave the way for innovatin. Shell used RealWear, Inc.’s HMT-1Z1 to reopen its fuel terminal in Wesseling, Germany, by remotely resolving an IT issue caused by a misplaced cable, too complex to solve in a call and where vendor travel wasn’t possible during COVID-19 lockdown. A disruption in the fuel supply to motorists and heating oil supply to homes was avoided. RealWear allowed Shell Lubricant Solutions specialists working from home to show a customer how to mend gearboxes at a Malaysian power station, keeping essential power generation services running. Wow! “Almost everyone likes RealWear now,” says Jens Thun, an Automation and Digitalisation Lead for Shell Trading and Supply. “Before COVID-19, there were sceptics. Not now. This technology will permanently change how we work.“

Axion Energy utiliza tecnología de realidad aumentada para conectar su refinería argentina con el mundo
“It is 11:05 in the morning in the Buenos Aires city of Campana. Frederico, an instrument technician at AXION energy, climbs up the platform where the cracked main blower turbine is located. At that same moment, at 9:05 a.m. in Houston, a specialist engineer at the unit asks him to recheck the axial displacement sensor installation. “The one you have on the right,” he says, while looking at everything from the screen on his desk, where he receives live the image that Federico is seeing and generating at that very moment, 8066 kilometers away.”
