Company-X Joins RealWear Ready Family of Partners
|
|
RealWear continues to expand its ecosystem of partners to meet the global needs of industry. Now we are proud to welcome Company-X to our family of RealWear Ready partners. Company-X is the newest Australasian reseller for RealWear headsets HMT-1 and the intrinsically safe, ATEX Zone-1 approved HMT-1Z1.
|
“The challenge was to help technicians onsite at remote distribution hubs. The technicians carry out repair and maintenance on site so using the HMT needs no computer or laptop. You can’t take a laptop into an explosive area, which was needed here, but you can take the head-mounted tablet, and the HMT-1Z1 model is certified as intrinsically safe.” Company-X AR/VR specialist Lance Bauerfeind

Four Major Challenges Facing Modern Industry
|
Honeywell: Connected Plant, Connected People - RealWear Summit
|
In his presentation at RealWear Summit, Vincent Higgins of Honeywell outlined four key challenges facing Oil & Gas companies:
- Retiring workforce - Prepare for a loss of knowledge as 50% of experts will retire in the next 5 years.
- Millennials entering industry - Knowledge transfer is inefficient between millennials and retiring experts.
- Job retention of millennials - Average onboarding period is 6 - 12 months, but millennials’ average tenure is 2 years.
- Finally, many organizations still invest in passive learning methods, even though active learning methods (learning by doing), have been shown to be up to 4X more effective in terms of knowledge retention.
These challenges are not unique to Oil & Gas. Companies in Manufacturing, Utilities, and dozens of other industries face similar obstacles to hiring, training, and retaining talented workers.
But with RealWear solutions, any company can address all four of these challenges at the same time.
Watch the video above to learn more, or download our knowledge transfer whitepaper here.
