ÖBB-Postbus GmbH Improves Productivity by 30% With Nagarro, Barcotec, HMT-1
Nagarro Customer Story: ÖBB-Postbus benefits from connected worker solutions on RealWear HMT-1
Austria’s largest bus company, ÖBB-Postbus GmbH has been part of the ÖBB Group since 2003. Vehicle inspectors are required to inspect the buses and create acceptance reports, but up until this point the process has been manual, tedious, and prone to error.
- 30% time saving per acceptance
- 1/3 more buses could be accepted
As a result of this initiative, ÖBB Postbus was awarded the TÜV AUSTRIA Science Award in the category “Company Practice.”

Construction Faces a Steep Challenge in Knowledge Transfer. RealWear is Ready.
We’re grateful for this recent article by Zack Parnell. In this article, Zack addresses key challenges related to knowledge transfer in the construction and lifting industries. Companies like Palfinger are using RealWear HMT-1 to accelerate knowledge transfer and unite frontline workers with remote experts.
“RealWear also has several software options that let technicians be guided through procedures or workflows which serve as a powerful, asynchronous activity that does not require a live, remote-expert. Another asynchronous use case involves experts, in the field with an HMT-1 or mobile device, simply video recording their work activity while they narrate what they are doing. "Companies that are creating this sort of knowledge repository for future workers, while their experts are still employed, are years ahead.” Zack Parnell

The Next Big Disruption in Oil and Gas
We were excited to see this review of HMT-1 and our intrinsically safe HMT-1Z1 by Mehdy Touil, LNG Senior Panel Operator at Yamal LNG.
In his review, Mehdy outlines the potential of a connected workforce that can access data and documents with just a few simple voice commands, all hands-free:
“Imagine having access on the spot to a wealth of documentation, pulling up P&IDs, a data-sheet or a SAP work order just by looking at a pump, even collecting field readings with pre-set historical data and alarms settings. "Competency assessments would also benefit by standardizing the learning curve, and connecting field trainees to their mentor who can monitor every movement and action of the operator.” Mehdy Touil

Atheer Supports Defense Innovation at Thales
Global defense and aerospace giant Thales has a long history of innovation – and being able to respond nimbly to both challenges and opportunities. But though the company is well-known for the precision equipment it produces, Thales is also seeing rising revenues from its services business. This is where David Oliveira, Thales Service Innovation Lead, saw an opportunity to improve efficiency with assisted reality.
Thales selected Atheer’s platform on the RealWear HMT-1 to provide “see what I see” video calling, hands-free work and the capability to offer digital delivery of work instructions in a user’s field of vision. “Straight away, we had return on investment,” said David Oliveira.
