Reifenhauser Group posted on LinkedIn
The success story of Reifenhäuser´s Visual Assistance service continues: In spite of the current travel restrictions to Saudi Arabia, Reifenhauser Group succeeded in putting AdFlex / B+K MEC’s new 3-layer blown film line into production remotely in close cooperation with their customer. Thanks to Reifenhäuser´s Visual Assistance the local team was able to send the on-site activity live by smart glasses to Reifenhäuser experts assigned to the project. The customer’s technicians are guided step by step and receive all the necessary information at the right time – by visual image, spoken word, or chat function. Visual Assistance is also predestined for efficient maintenance works.

Nestlé is expanding the use of augmented reality technology to support its production and research sites remotely to stay in contact with suppliers. With the help of, for example, “remote desktop”, “smart glasses”, 360-degree cameras and 3D software, specialists advise on complex tasks without having to travel to the respective location. These technologies are mainly used for setting up or redesigning factories, implementing new products on the production lines, for maintenance work or for checking new machines at suppliers. “The protection of our employees is a top priority for Nestlé. The introduction of augmented reality technology, for example, is helping us to increase the speed and efficiency in our factories and to reduce our travel activities overall, ”says David Findlay, Global Head of Manufacturing at Nestlé. “I’m very proud that our teams have expanded the use of this technology so quickly. That kept our factories running smoothly even during COVID-19 and helped us to implement new investment projects on time. “ Blog post and Nestle video below.
